Carin Bublitz Named ECAC Esports Coach of the Year

Carin Bublitz, Randolph-Macon College鈥檚 Director of Esports, has been named the 2022-23 Eastern College Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

Bublitz, who just completed her first year at 91短视频, coaches student teams across 11 different game titles. Several teams made playoff runs in both the fall and spring, including the Madden and Fortnite teams, who placed second and third, respectively, in the ECAC. In the fall, the Rocket League team took first place at the Rocket League Collegiate Series at Martinsville Speedway.

In addition to in-game success, Bublitz has grown the culture of the program and created an environment that is both inclusive and competitive. 91短视频 esports athletes excelled in the classroom as well, posting a 3.00 cumulative GPA for the year.

鈥淚 would like to start by thanking Randolph-Macon College, my athletes, and the ECAC for the opportunities they have provided me,鈥 Bublitz said. 鈥淕oing forward, I look to continue the growth of the Randolph-Macon College Esports program by promoting an environment of inclusivity and by providing a space where those with a passion for gaming feel like they belong.鈥

鈥淪he鈥檚 an amazing director and puts in much more effort than is required of her,鈥 one student nominator said. 鈥淪he plays every game in the program and makes an effort to know at least a little about the meta so she can know what鈥檚 going on and how to advise everyone involved. She鈥檚 a fantastic director and an even better person to everyone who knows her.鈥
