MUSC 310: Concert Choir

Concert Choir is a collaborative non-auditioned vocal ensemble open to students in all academic programs at 91短视频. This ensemble will perform a diverse variety of choral literature from western standards through contemporary music styles, including compositions by underrepresented composers and arrangers. Students will have the opportunity to improve musicianship skills, such as sight-reading and listening skills. Concert Choir counts toward the Aesthetic Expression Pillar, as well as counts on the music major and music minor degree programs.

MUSC 311: Chamber Singers

Selected by audition, Chamber Singers is a collaborative vocal ensemble open to
students in all academic programs at 91短视频. This course is a corequisite to Concert Choir. Mostly from memory, this ensemble will perform a moderately to advanced level of diverse variety of choral literature from western standards through contemporary music styles, including compositions by underrepresented composers and arrangers. Students will have the opportunity to improve musicianship skills, such as sight-reading and listening skills. Chamber Singers counts toward the Aesthetic Expression Pillar, as well as counts on the music
major and music minor degree programs.

Show Choir

The LUXE Show Choir includes both stage performers doing vocals and dance, and a Show Band. The 50+ person cast performs modern music with costumes and exciting choreography. Operating outside the music department, the Show Choir is part of the College’s student life experience, under the direction of Mr. Adam Pulver.

MUSC 281: Chamber Ensembles (January Term)

Small-group Chamber Ensembles are in-depth musical explorations and performance opportunities that occur during Randolph-Macon’s unique January Term. Students will play or sing in both traditional and unorthodox instrumentations while taking other January Term classes. These small ensembles include string quartets, brass and woodwind ensembles, and flexible-instrumentation groups, all coached by 91短视频’s talented applied lessons instructors.

MUSC 314: Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble is the campus musical home for all woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians. RMWE performs both classic and cutting-edge band literature from across the instrumental spectrum, frequently performing both on- and off-campus. Open to all majors, no audition is required.

MUSC 315: Symphony orchestra

Symphony Orchestra is made up of 91短视频鈥檚 string musicians with select winds and percussion. RMSO performs orchestral literature that spans music history and pushes modern boundaries. Like the Wind Ensemble, RMSO frequently performs both on- and off-campus. Open to all majors, no audition is required.

MUSC 316: Jazz Improvisation Laboratory

Jazz Improvisation Laboratory is an experimental, mixed-instrumentation jazz ensemble that studies and performs a diverse range of jazz styles and traditions. Open to all majors, no jazz experience required.
