Most colleges have orientation leaders.

91短视频 has New Student Transition Captains – because we believe it’s about more than orientation!

New Students meet their Captains for the first time during New Student Registration Days

O captain, my captain!

“The Captains” are year-long sources of support for new students at 91短视频. Captains work collaboratively with the students, staff, and their fellow crews to welcome, orient, and help students navigate their transition to Randolph-Macon College.

The Captains will:

  • Reach out and connect even before the school year begins.
  • Work with students during a busy orientation and welcome week that helps all students find their way around campus resources.
  • Serve as a personal resource for all students in their crew all year long to help support a successful transition into 91短视频 and college life.
  • Help facilitate the Yellow Jacket Success Strategies course, along with a faculty, to share information on a successful start to college
  • Facilitate reflections and create programming that help each crew adjust to college life.
  • Commit to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for all new students and their guests.
  • Show integrity and respect in their positions as role models and mentors.

Every Captain has a crew…

A crew is a group of new students with the same Captain. Every new student is part of a crew that will have meetings, workshops, and social activities throughout the first year. Students meet their crew on move-in day!

…and Five crews make a League!

Leagues are for fun and ensure opportunities for students to meet people outside of their crew – especially in those first few weeks at 91短视频.

  • 1971 League
  • 1967 League
  • Boydton League
  • Ashland League
