As citizens of Ashland, Virginia and the world, Randolph-Macon works to make our campus energy-efficient and to support our students, faculty, and staff in their efforts too.

What are we doing?

Our Key Green resources include:

  • Bright green recycling cans at various outside locations throughout campus.
  • Vehicle charging available at Andrews Hall.
  • Water bottle refill stations throughout campus.

Through changes small and large, our efforts behind the scenes help reduce our campus鈥檚 energy use:

  • Solar panels on Andrews Hall, Copley Hall, and the Marketing and Communications office.
  • A water reclamation system at Andrews Hall.
  • Composting of food waste from Estes Dining Hall.
  • Electricity and emissions monitoring and reporting.
  • Upgrades to HVAC systems including chillers and central boilers for efficient heating.
  • Facilities recycling of batteries, bulbs, and toner cartridges.
  • Database inventory, tracking and management of chemicals used in science labs and campus maintenance.

How you can help:

  • Keep recycling clean. Don鈥檛 add items that contaminate recycling, such as food, liquid or plastic bags, or items that aren鈥檛 recyclable to bins and dumpsters. Learn more by clicking the link below.
